ELLA NORA SERIF: TYPE DESIGN

Ella Nora is a typeface that focuses on delicacy and softness with a more youthful personality, as it was inspired by Rainbow Rowell’s novel Eleanor and Park.

This book consists of a very gentle love story that started in a bus ride with a girl who was always alienated and bullied for the way she looked, along with a gloomy boy who is still in the process of figuring himself out. This was a journey of how they both faced their own obstacles while also figuring out their complicated and unplanned first love. The innocent and naive qualities within their relationship are portrayed by the soft and round serifs, whereas the delicate yet sharp corners within the curves illustrate the tangents and obstacles that are faced within their fear-laced lives.
